Team Up For Charity Sand Soccer Rules

Teams:
• Maximum 12 players per team, must have a minimum of three players on the field at all times
• Four field players and one goalkeeper
• Teams may be all men, all women, or co-ed.
• Substitutions can take place ON THE FLY
• No limit on substitutions
Registration:
• All participants must check-in at registration table in the pavilion to receive team t-shirt at least 45 minutes prior to first game
• All participants MUST complete and sign a waiver before they are eligible to compete
Match Time:
• Two eleven minute halves
• One minute break between halves
• Coin toss at start of every game to decide who has kickoff (Opposing team has kickoff to begin second half)
Attire:
• Each team must wear uniform provided, if uniforms are similar in color, pinnies will be provided
• Goalkeepers must wear a color that distinguishes them from their team as well as opposing team
• No footwear is permitted
• Shinguards are not permitted
• Ace bandages (only attached by tape), Neoprene wraps, socks, and athletic tape are all allowed
Rules:
• A ball is out of bounds when it completely crosses over the boundary lines
• Out of bounds over the sideline = ball put back into play by either a kick-in or throw-in at the point where the ball went out of play
• Out of bounds over the endline = Either a corner or goal kick. A corner kick must be taken with your feet, a goal kick can be either thrown by the goalkeeper or kicked from a still position by the goalkeeper
• When a foul is committed, the result is a free kick awarded from the sight of the foul. All players must be FIVE yards away, and NO WALLS are allowed. The kicker must have a clear view of the goal
• ABSOLUTELY NO SLIDE TACKLING WILL BE ALLOWED
• Back pass rule is in effect when passing back to a goalkeeper (if goalkeeper picks the ball up with their hands a free kick is awarded from the center of the field)
• Goalkeepers cannot score by throwing the ball directly into the opposing team’s goal
• No offsides
• A goal is issued when the entire ball crosses the entire goal line
• A foul that is committed in the penalty area results in a penalty kick from the center of the green flagged line
Yellow and Red Cards: (Hopefully these will not be necessary since this is for charity)
• Yellow card offense results in a 2 minute penalty, and team must play a person down
• Red card offense results in ejection from the current game, team plays a person down remainder of current game, red carded player must sit out next game but the team can play at full strength
• Ejected players may stay and watch but they cannot participate in their suspended game
• Referees have final say on fouls and cards issued
Infractions:
A direct kick will be awarded to the opposing team if a player commits the following infractions:
• Kick or trip an opponent
• Grab, push, or intentionally obstruct a player
• Touch or grab the ball with hand or arm
• Slide tackle an opponent
• Playing in a reckless manner
Criteria for advancement into playoffs:
Win = 3 points, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss
One additional point will be awarded for each goal scored (maximum of 3 goals/game) for the teams who win or tie, no points given for goals if lose.
The THREE teams with the most points from each pool advance to the playoffs.
If two teams are tied with points, the following tiebreakers will be used to determine who will qualify for playoffs or seeding:
1. Winner of head-to-head
2. Team with highest goal differential
3. Team scoring most goals (5 goal max/game)
4. Team with fewest goals against
5. If criteria 1-4 are equal, the two tied teams will play a 3 minute golden goal overtime period (If still tied,
then a FIFA penalty kick procedure will take place to determine seeding.)
If Three teams are tied with points:
1. Best record in games played by the three tied teams against each other (if still tied, follow steps 2-5 to determine playoff qualification or seeding)
Playoff tie-breaker procedures: (to break ties within the playoffs)
1. One three minute golden goal overtime (If still tied, then a FIFA penalty kick procedure will take place to determine the winner.)
2. The Soccer Shack, Foundation for a Miracle and any other sponsors of the tournament are not held responsible for expenses incurred by a team or club if the tournament is canceled in whole or in part
3. The tournament reserves the right to decide on all matters relative to the tournament. All rules are subject to change based on the discretion of the tournament creators
4. Tournament creators reserve the right to ask anyone to leave who is not complying to the tournament rules and regulations. Example - Unsportsmanlike conduct, heckling, fighting, or continuous foul language due to this being a charity tournament and a family atmosphere
