The Soccer Shack is proud to present...
Golden Challenge for a Pink Cure 2009 The women’s soccer teams from The College at Brockport and Nazareth College, in conjunction with The Soccer Shack in Rochester, will team up for the "Golden Challenge for a Pink Cure" on Saturday, September 12, at Brockport when the Golden Eagles and Golden Flyers face each other in a non-conference game. The event will help promote breast cancer awareness and raise money to be donated to cancer research. The teams will wear pink and black Nike uniforms provided by the Soccer Shack for the 1 pm game and several cancer donation-related activities, including the sale of specially-designed t-shirts, will be taking place prior to and during the game. The Golden Challenge for a Pink Cure is scheduled to be an annual event with each school hosting the event alternating years. A pregame ceremony featuring Megan MacKenzie, a former Rochester area soccer player that is currently battling breast cancer, will include a ceremonial kick-off to start the game. MacKenzie will also accompany the captains from each team on a tour of the James P. Wilmont Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Additional details about the activities surrounding the game and additional ways to contribute to the fundraiser will be announced as the game date nears. Brockport Women's Soccer v.
